FieldScout

FieldScout and Tagvexa solve different problems

Both answer to the words MEP and field. One runs an active jobsite; the other documents a building that already exists.

FieldScout is a construction field operations platform — safety inspections, hazard planning, permits, delivery scheduling, jobsite logistics and equipment readiness, aimed at general and MEP contractors running a live build. Tagvexa is existing conditions survey software: photograph installed equipment, read the nameplates into records, place them on the floor plan and compare them with the design schedule.

If you are managing a site, that is FieldScout's job and not ours. If you are documenting one, it is the other way round.

Side by side

  • 01: Primary job

  • 02: Nameplate fields read from the photo

  • 03: Equipment placed on a floor plan

  • 04: Compared against the design schedule

  • 05: DXF export with units and layers

  • 06: Safety inspections and hazard planning

  • 07: Permits and worker certification tracking

  • 08: Delivery scheduling and site logistics

  • 09: Equipment readiness and turnover tracking

  • 10: Published price

Everything in the FieldScout column was read from their own site on 18 September 2026. Where it says a capability is not claimed, that means exactly that: we found no mention of it, not that the product cannot do it. Products change, and theirs is the authoritative description. If we have something wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

Choose FieldScout

Your problem is the running of a jobsite: inspections and pre-task hazard plans, permits for high-risk work, who is certified for what, when deliveries arrive and through which gate, whether equipment is ready for turnover. None of that is what Tagvexa does, and there is no version of this page where we pretend otherwise.

Choose Tagvexa

Your problem is a building that already exists and documents that may or may not describe it. Somebody has to walk it, photograph the plant, and produce a record an engineer can stamp — with the gaps between the drawings and the field made explicit rather than smoothed over.

That work is judged on what it missed. A unit on the schedule that nobody photographed, or a rating that does not match the design, is the finding you want before the second trip, not after.

Plenty of teams want both

A contractor running new construction and taking on retrofit work has both problems, at different moments. These are not alternatives so much as neighbours, and the useful question is which problem you have this month.

Questions people actually ask

Are FieldScout and Tagvexa actually competitors?

Mostly not, and we would rather say so than pretend. FieldScout is a construction field operations platform: safety inspections, permits, delivery scheduling, jobsite logistics, equipment readiness. Tagvexa documents existing conditions — what equipment is installed in a building, and where that disagrees with the drawings. They share the words MEP and field, and almost nothing else.

So why does this page exist?

Because both come up when you search for MEP field software, and working out that two products solve different problems usually costs a demo call. This is meant to save that call.

Could a contractor use both?

Yes, and that is the honest answer for a lot of teams. FieldScout on the active build for safety and logistics, Tagvexa when the job involves documenting what is already in the building — a retrofit survey, a takeover, an existing conditions package.

Does FieldScout do nameplate extraction or schedule comparison?

We found no mention of equipment nameplate capture, floor plan placement or design schedule comparison on their site. It does track equipment, but in a readiness and delivery sense rather than as a survey record.

We need safety inspections and permits. Does Tagvexa do those?

No, and it is not going to. Permits, hazard planning and worker certification are not what this is. If that is your problem, FieldScout is aimed at it and we are not.
